Alex Chan launches World of Electors – a series realized as a Machinima. It’s Alex’s version of the French Political elections. The french media focus on the candidates : Alex focuses on the electors and offers them the possibility to express their opinions in a ficticious world, creating a new world as Second Life did. Voices on the machinima are real testimonies. He will shoot 14 episodes. Eyeka distributed them to 20Minutes, a daily in France and NT1 a TV Channel. The first episodes are about the “national identity and immigration” and “security issues Gare de Nord”.
Eyeka co-produced the series. We’ll subtitle in english, but get a grasp here of the pilot and the first episodes.
Alex Chan created in 2005 “French Democracy” during the November 2005 riots in France. He was living right right in the middle of it, La Courneuve in the “93”. These riots were presented almost as “terrorism” by the press, which did upset him. He created a Machinima which told his version of the story. Circulated via the internet, signed koulamata, it became a huge success and was noticed by journalists from the Washington Post. Since then he produced “Seeds of terrorism” produced by Bac Films, a political fiction : “What if Iran gets the nuclear bomb, is under attack. He focuses on the consequences for younger population”. I interviewed Alex on April 12th : stick around for about 10 minutes.
